What happens when we allow?

Imagine a waterfall.....

The image of a waterfall shows vividly what we desire in life: a natural flow without struggle. It seems that this image also expresses that when we let go and release our potential, things will happen naturally. Obviously our critical faculties will start to protest at this statement: Rubbish, nonsense!! Nothing will happen unless we push for it!

OK do as you like, I see many people in my practice who have been doing exactly that and  have exhausted their energy sources and denied their own inner leadership. So where do we go wrong? We assumed that this career was the road to paradise, we thought that if we worked hard, we would be fine etc etc.

But what about our natural state of being instead of  doing? When we look up the verb BE in the Visual Thesaurus an entire map of synonyms opens up and one of them strikes me: to exist. We exist by being and that is too simple to be true for most of us. So just by being we exist.

It reminds me of a scene in a film about Einstein where he walks among traffic in the rainy dark streets of Vienna. The cars have to swerve to avoid him, which  gives him the flash of insight he needed to prove the curved trajectory of the planets. Apparently the planets swerve because of the sun. I like to transfer this image to our own existence, to our inner force, our inner light. By becoming aware of our own light, our Self, our Soul, we can connect to a real existence in this world.

So what is your sun like? What does it want to show? How would you define your sun and following that, how would you define your state of being in this wordly plane? What difference do you want to make in this world?

The first problem my clients have to deal with is: can I receive my sun, my Self, my gifts? It proves a hard nut to crack to balance giving and receiving. The first part we hardly have any problems with, unfortunately too much of the former results in burnout or depression. So the solution lies in balancing giving and receiving. Receiving what? I hear you say. Well first of all there is your wisdom, secondly your pure childlike sense of discovery and play without ulterior motives to please or judge, and thirdly there is your Self, your full potential, your complete iceberg that is waiting to be unlocked and activated. Together these parts represent your Soul, your destiny, your Alpha and Omega and there we are: full circle. So we don’t have to move in a linear fashion at all, we are complete as we are. Too simple? Well it’s up to you of course.

Anyway, to continue my ramblings, and I hope you can still follow me, when we talk of the soul and how to transfer this to our daily lives we might compare ourselves to any organisation. In our inner organisation the vision is expressed by the Board of Directors or the Soul and the daily management is in the capable hands of a CEO. Now this CEO in our inner organisation represents our I , not me, my and myself, but our I. He or she is in charge and knows all executive talents that are able to translate the vision into products. The talents or gifts are the archetypal energies within us and they are the energies that are felt by the soul. When these energies are locked up by fear and control we cannot exist.

So take a look at your inner organisation and imagine the vision, the leadership necessary to serve that vision and the talents or gifts you were born with to carry out that vision. When everything is connected and in support of each other you’ll be able to connect to the world just by being…

enjoy life and work, be an inspired king on your throne and put your talents to good use

Are you at a turning point in your life?

Discover your possibilities and choose your course in life

We are all full of potential and talents. The question is: Do you use this potential and can you unlock it? I work with The Game of Gifts developed by Willem Glaudemans in the Netherlands. The Game of Gifts is a board game that elicits your potential in symbolic or archetypal form. The Game has universal applications and can be used by private clients as well as businesses and teams.

When playing this game, you will discover your twelve talents. We often use only a few of those. Imagine yourself as a twelve cylinder engine, and ask yourself which cylinders are actually working and which are not. When you are aware of all this power you can enjoy a more relaxed life when you harness it and put it to good use. In this way the quiet yet powerful sound of a twelve cylinder engine presents a powerful image of how we can use our potential today.

People who played the Game report feeling less stressful, leading more relaxed and full lives and a general experience of being more in control of their lives both at work and at play.
